SINGAPORE TRIP PART 1

Assalamualaikum.

Yes it is. I went to Singapore last 2 weeks. On 30 March to 1 April. The trip was splendid! I went to those big connected malls which sell luxury stuff, to Universal Studio of Singapore (of course), Singapore Zoo and to the Bugis street where all the low-price stuff being sold.

From Kuantan, I took a flight (Fireflyz) at Kuantan Airport straight to Singapore Airport. The journey was about 1 hour. I just sleep through the entire journey because I didn't have enough sleep the night before, trying to finish up all my works plus too excited!

When I reach there, I was like... "Duhh nothing new. Same old same old like Malaysia". That is when I was inside the airport. But when I went out, hahahaha... it is true after all. Singapore is different!

From the Budget Terminal where I landed, I have to go to Terminal 2 to catch MRT. To go there, a shuttle bus is provided. Its free. At Terminal 2, we ( me and friends) bought a Tourist MRT travel card for 3 days. Since we all decided to explore Singapore on our own, so we opt for their public transport. Some more I heard the public transport there is good. And it is good. Proven! Roughly, they approximate we will use SG$10 per day, so SG$30 goes for the card. You can claim the balance later when you finish using it. Mind you that during my visit, RM1 is equal to SG$2.4. Every penny counts yo!

Inside the MRT. It feels good looking at the Malay language signage.

Oh yeah. You can download the SMRT application in your smartphone. Using this application, you can plan your route; which train and where interchange to take to be at your destination, together with the fare amount. But you seldom look at the fare because you already have the travel card. It's already being taken care of.

When I first use the MRT, I was quite mesmerized with the system. They were times where I have to change from Circle-Line to North-South Line to reach my destination. In other words, I have to change train. Just like in KL,  you change from LRT to monorail at Hang Tuah Station to go to Bukit Bintang. Previously, we will check out from LRT, then queue up those long line for ticket at Monorail counter because they are two different companies. Here in Singapore, to change from one train to another, there is no need to buy a new ticket. The best part is when the new train is just situated next to the previous train. No long walks are needed.

But to my surprise, when I use the train in KL right after I came back from Singapore, we are now using the same system. Monorail and LRT just started the system. KTM Komuter will join them by this July. Now it means I have nothing to brag about the Singapore MRT system. Pffff! So if you are originally at LRT station just about to buy the ticket, and your destination is to be a place that could be reached by using monorail or KTM Komuter, you can chose that destination. Only one ticket is needed. Cool!

The first destination is to Kalang where our hotel situated. It is hardly a hotel actually. A dorm to be exact.

Kalang MRT Station. See the CCTV. So many of them.

After freshen-up a little bit, and keep the luggage in the room, we went out for lunch at nearby restaurant. It was called P&Z Eating House which claims to have the best mee rebus in Singapore and yes I admit they do. But just best mee rebus. I don't know whether they are the best or not because this is the only mee rebus in Singapore that I have tasted. Tanya Aaron Aziz la. He will know.

Then off to shopping mall to shop, my favourite part.

16 MARCH IS HERE

Assalamualaikum.

I think its embarrassing somehow to let others know my birthdate by writing it here (yes today is my birthday yes). But for the sake of memories, for my own reminiscence, why not. This page is mine after all. And majorly its all about me me and me.

Today I turn (cough cough) 27. Alhamdulilah.

Why do I feel like I'm just 24, 25? Is this how you feel being a 27?

I wake up today, hoping that today it will become a wonderful day for my birthday celebration. Self-celebration it is. Am going to pamper myself with face treatment and SHOPPING at my favorite places/departments. In Kuantan there are not many choices for you to pick. Am thinking of going to have a facial at Felisa Cosmetic, then enjoying chocolate frap at Starbucks, eat my new-found-favorite-meal, japanese food at Sushi King and spend the balance of book voucher at MPH Book Carnival at Zenith Hotel.

Even got my To-Do-List

I still remember the celebration with my UTP's friends last year. We have it at Johnny's Restaurant Kinta City. And my bestfriend aka boyfriend did come later that night. I don't think I blog about it, but I did Facebook it though. Too bad. Ok now I miss my friends. Urgh thats 26 for me. A student.

Now 27. Working as a knowledge-sharer?

Xoxo.

LYNAS

Assalamualaikum.

Currently at KL Sentral, waiting for my ETS to bring me to Batu Gajah at 1030 pm. Thats 3 hours from now.

Here I would like to put my stand on the Lynas issue. I just read some comments on Lynas fb page just now. Theres the bad and good guy anyway. Which one is good which one is bad, you define!

For me, I totally agree with Lynas. The same way I agree with nuclear plant.

I believe risk is everywhere. And its our job, in this issue will be the job of the engineers to make sure all the risks in Lynas Rare Earth Plant at Gebeng are being taking care of, 24-7.

I believe in engineers. They got their degree not for nothing you see. Do you think they will let all the errors go out from the plant that they operating? They are all educated people. And they take this challenge to proof that they are capable together with all the people from Australia. This is our time to shine.

The best example (quoted from Dr. Rizza)for this is Japan. We know, the whole country know, the whole world know that they have been destroyed by nuclear bomb long long time ago...

... But they still build up their own nuclear plant. Why? Why the Japanese can understand that and why not Malaysian?

Yes of course during the Tsunami last year the nuclear plant is badly affected the people there. But you can't control natural disaster. Its out of our hands. Let say if Tsunami hit Kerteh where the Petronas Plant located, or Sg. Udang Melaka, the same thing will happen. The best we can do is to design the plant to be ready to face the bad weather from previous recorded data. We don't have data for tsunami at Kota Kuala Muda, Kedah too right, but it still happened in 2006.

I think thats it. Am just nobody, who just telling off my opinion, what I think is right.

Xoxo.
